When he was only 9 years old, Jacques Mees from Tilburg, Netherlands, thought he got struck by lightning when he heard Bob Dylan’s voice for the first time.  It was then that he also heard his vocational calling to become a singer-songwriter himself.  His influences came from country, blues and folk music.  His mentors were Townes van Zandt, Hank Williams and of course Bob Dylan and others of that genre who all contributed to Jacques becoming the versatile recording and performing artist that he is today.

Jacques Mees enjoyed much success early in his career but 2011 was an exceptional year of touring and promoting his “Shooting Star” album around Europe.  He also performed some shows in Burkina Faso, West Africa.  2011 was an important year which gave rise to many Bob-Fests and gigs around the world to commemorate Dylan’s 70th birthday.  Jacques featured in many of these performances and received accolades in Italy, Ireland, Germany, Belgium and of course, at home in the Netherlands. http://bobdylanmeetsneilyoungtribute.weebly.com/

The great success of the international Bob-Fests held in 2011, gave birth to the idea of organising a similar project – this time a festival to celebrate the tradition of two musical Greats – Bob Dylan and Neil Young to be held on the 8th April 2012.

Presently, Jacques is recording and will soon release a new album with original material.  This album will also contain one song co-written with Jan Wim Schoenmakers from the Netherlands and another song co-written with Maria D’Alessandro  from Australia.   The release date of this new album will be advised soon.
